FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes dispersing initial graphite by wire brushing to obtain a dispersion product containing graphene and graphite elements; separating graphene from the obtained dispersion product through hydrophobic properties thereof using a liquid having density of 1.80-2.3 g/cm3; splitting the graphite elements by attrition in a drum having abrasive elements in the form of abrasive rollers, the length of which is equivalent to the length of the edge of the drum. The inner surface of the drum and the surface of the rollers have roughness of not more than 0.32 mcm.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the process of producing graphene and reduced hazardousness of production.
