METHOD FOR EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF METASTASES IN CHOROID Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B3/00

Abstract RU 2582751 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to ophthalmology, and can be used for diagnosis of metastases in choroid, using a special algorithm for tomographic examination. During tomography of each eye, method includes sequentially scanning macular zone area of optic disk, paramacular zone and eye ground periphery from paramacular zone to a dentate line with spacing between scans not less than 1,000 mcm. Further, condition of retina, choroid both eyes is determined. Presence of metastases of choroid in area is detected, characterised by increase in thickness of choroid by at least 30 % compared to standard, presence of nodular change of choroid profile in presence of neuroepithelium scaling and retinal pigment epithelium in adjacent area of retina and increase of its thickness is at least 50 % as compared to standard.

EFFECT: method enables early diagnosis of metastases in choroid with timely generation of an adequate approach organ-preserving treatment of patients.
