SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and represents a recombinant microorganism of genus Escherichia, having enhanced ability to produce L-tryptophan, where said recombinant microorganism is modified by deletion, partially or completely, of leader peptide, having a nucleotide sequence SEQ ID NO: 2, in regular expression area having a nucleotide sequence SEQ ID NO: 1, on endogenous tryptophan operon. Invention also relates to a method of producing L-tryptophan using said microorganism.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain L-tryptophan with high efficiency.
