Method and system include steps of determining control zone length S on road section, VC passage recording facilities are installed at the beginning and end of said zone, determined and memorized are VC registration plate, VC passage time and VC fixation zone number, defined by image frame, determining VC travel distance, VC average speed on the monitored road section.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of vehicle average speed determining accuracy on monitored road section.
