SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment and is used for providing negative pressure to a negative pressure wound therapy bandage. Method comprises providing a pumping device, setting a therapeutic negative pressure on the pumping device, determines a target negative pressure, associated with the therapeutic negative pressure, and the target negative pressure being less than the therapeutic negative pressure. Pumping device is being connected to a negative pressure wound therapy bandage, and the target negative pressure is being achieved by cycling the pump on and off. Plurality of samples of the negative pressure in the negative pressure wound therapy bandage is being obtained. Each sample is being obtained at a first set time interval. Average of a predetermined number of consecutive samples is being calculated, average is being compared to the target negative pressure. Cycling the pump on and off is being continued until average is greater than the target pressure, and after the step of cycling the pump on and off until the average of samples is greater than the target pressure. After the complete off cycle, sampling the negative pressure in the negative pressure wound therapy bandage at a second set time interval greater than the first set time interval. Method is implemented by means of the device consisting of a pump, an interface, a pressure sensor and a control circuit.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides accurate and quick achieving the therapeutic pressure, reducing power consumption and increasing service life of the power supply.
