FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the technology of oxide coatings formation on titanium products for technical and medical purposes, such as elements of friction pairs and hardware products. A titanium product is subject to induction heating in air at temperatures up 700-800 C, at inductor current frequency of 9010 kHz and specific electric power consumption of 0.2-0.4 Wt. The product is then kept at this temperature for 2-3 minutes and air-cooled.
EFFECT: formation of oxide coatings that enhance hardness and scratch resistance, and reduces the sliding friction coefficient of titanium products surface.
