FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs application in excimer laser corneal surgery. Stroma ablation is performed after de-epithelized cornea staining with 0.1-1.0% isotonic solution of rose bengal with additional postoperative corneal UV protection by means of sunglasses. This creates a shielding effect for secondary transformed UV radiation (emerging during ablation) penetration in the deeper layers adjacent to the ablation zone. Appointment of corneal sunglasses protection to block external UV rays in the postoperative period contributes as well.
EFFECT: prevention of additional phototoxic products formation from NSAIDs.
