FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing an activated modified carbon from fruit pits and nut shells lies in the fact that the feedstock pre-dried at a temperature of 200-250°C is impregnated with a saturated solution of urea or thiourea in an amount of 5-10 wt % in relation to the feedstock and is subjected to carbonization at a temperature range of 600-750°C. The resulting material is crushed to a fraction of 0.8-1.6 mm. Screenings less than 0.8 mm are milled to a fraction with a powder particle size less than 0.05 mm obtaining a clarifying activated carbon. The main fraction is activated by an aqueous vapour at a temperature of 800-850°C for 1.5-2 hours.
EFFECT: obtaining reinforced active carbon granules having a higher sorption capacity against oil and organic compounds.
