FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: steel-smelting flux contains, wt %: 0.1-2.0 calcium oxide; 25.0-50.0 silicon oxide; 5.0-20.0 iron oxide; 0.5-10.0 aluminium oxide; 0.5-20.0 loss on ignition; magnesium oxide is the rest. In this case, the ratio of magnesium oxide to the silicon oxide is 0.4-1.8, and the sum contents ratio of the calcium and iron oxides to the silicon oxide content is 0.1-1.0. The flux contains the mineralogical phases of olivine and serpentine.
EFFECT: invention allows to create the flux, that provides the high strength, the low open porosity and its high dissolution rate in the slag melt.
