FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method for determining the distance to the short circuit point of the contact network is that at the moment of short circuit, the values of currents (IA, IB), voltages (UA, UB) and phase angles (ϕA,ϕB) between them are measured at adjacent substations. The phase displacement angles (ψA,ψB) between the idling voltage and the corresponding voltages (UA, UB) are determined. In addition, the distance (lAB) between traction substations is determined. By means of implementing computational algorithms, the modulus (Z'B) and the argument (α'B) of the resistances of the substitution circuit, the current modulus (Ik) and the current argument (γK) in the short circuit point are found. The distance from the substation A to the short circuit point is then determined.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy and simplifying the way to determine the remoteness of the short circuit.
