FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method to determine the sizes of gas clusters in the supersonic gas flow includes outflow of gas from an acoustic or supersonic nozzle, formation of cluster beam by means of a cone diaphragm (skimmer), in which according to the invention, a transverse profile of the beam intensity is measured at a fixed distance behind the skimmer and the average size of clusters N is calculated by the spreading monomer and the beam cluster component by the ratio: where Δmono is spreading of the beam monomer component, Δclust is spreading of the beam cluster component.
EFFECT: providing possibilities to determine the sizes of clusters in flows of any pure gases and gas mixtures.
