METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE DEGREE OF BREAST HEALING AT ITS FIXATION AFTER CARDIAC-SURGICAL OPERATIONS WITH FULL MEDIUM STERNOTOMY Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B5/00 A61B6/03

Abstract RU 2647796 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, particularly to cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery, and may be used to determine the degree of healing of the sternum with its fixation after cardiosurgery with median sternotomy. According to computed tomography, calculations are made on axial sections in the bone regimen in 4 determining points, corresponding to the imposition of sutures connecting the margins of the sternum and bearing the main load: the upper edge of presternum (M1), the lower edge of presternum (M2), the upper part of the body of the sternum at the level of the 2nd intercostal space (C1), the lower part of the body of the sternum at the level of the 4th intercostal space (C2). Score is then assessed by the score criteria: 0 – diastase between fragments of the sternum more than 3 mm, 1 – diastase between fragments of the sternum 0–3 mm without signs of adhesion, 2 – there is no diastase between the fragments of the sternum, there are x-rays evidence of the emerging bone callus – cloudy, filiform shadows, 3 – full consolidation. Scores obtained determine the degree of healing of the sternum from the minimum – for a total of 0 points, which corresponds to diastase of the sternum more than 3 mm throughout the entire length without the possibility of self-adhesion, up to the maximum – with a total of 12 points, which corresponds to the complete consolidation of the sternum throughout its entire length.

EFFECT: method provides the most accurate determination of the degree of healing of the sternum in such patients, which allows to develop adequate treatment tactics.
