FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Light excitation of the autofluorescence of the ocular fundus is performed. Light signal of the LED with a peak wavelength of 488 nm is used. Intensity of the excited autofluorescence in the spectral region 1 corresponding to the range 530–580 nm and in the spectral region 2 corresponding to the range of 600–650 nm is recorded. With the help of mathematical processing, the values of the integral intensities of the signals of autofluorescence I1 and I2 in the spectral regions 1 and 2, respectively, are obtained. Diagnostic criterion is calculated as the ratio I1 to I2. If a diagnostic criterion value exceeding 1.15, the presence of a pathological process is ascertained.
EFFECT: invention can be used to diagnose age-related macular degeneration of the retina.
