SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, biology, biotechnology, pharmacology and can be used to assess the cytotoxicity of components that make up scaffolds used in tissue engineering, specifically during plastic repair or replacement of defects in body tissues with stimulation of their regeneration. To this end, erythrocytes extracted from blood, washed and incubated with components of scaffold materials at 37 °C for 30 min. Erythrocytes are then mixed with autologous blood plasma, a drop is placed on a slide and microphotography is carried out with 100x lens. Cytotoxicity of scaffold components is assessed based on the change in the morphology of erythrocytes and their aggregates in the autologous blood plasma.

EFFECT: invention enables to assess the cytotoxicity of scaffold components using a quick and affordable method with high sensitivity.
