FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and power electronics, particularly to converters of electric energy designed as per scheme of two-link converter units. Proposed converter unit can increase the safety of the device during operation, simplify the device construction, simplify installation and operation, reduce weight, dimensions and cost. To achieve the technical result, a relay, fuses and new connections are added to the circuit of the electrical converter, allowing to separately switch on and off the charging chain, and also to protect the converter unit from possible emergency situations. Charging current of the storage capacitor is limited by means of a charging resistor, and rectification of the charging current of the storage capacitor is carried out with the help of an artificially made single-phase full-wave rectifier. Positive effect of the invention is that, with a minimum number of elements, the efficiency and reliability of the work are improved, safety of using a converter unit is increased, the weight, dimensions and cost of an electric converter unit are reduced.

EFFECT: increased reliability and efficiency of the device during its operation.
