FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling an output stage of an electrical load in a motor vehicle. It is possible to detect errors that appear in the previous part of the control circuit, such as errors in software, and thus it is possible to take countermeasures to avoid damage to the electrical consumer. Disclosed is a method for controlling an output stage of electrical load (18) of a motor vehicle, where within hardware of output stage (19) of electrical consumer (18) a switch on monitoring is executed, a critical operating condition of electrical load (18) directly in power amplifier (19) monitors, wherein the duration of monitoring the switched on state for a given time interval exceeds the maximum non-faulty operating duration of the electrical load.
EFFECT: technical result is providing automatic protection and preventing damage to the oxygen sensor.
