FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel management systems for internal combustion engines (ICE). According to the invention, for direct fuel injection into the combustion chamber a valve and a variable compression ratio mechanism are used, configured to change the piston top dead center position and, thus, to change the ICE compression ratio. When the predetermined fuel shut-off condition is satisfied, the fuel supply from the fuel injection valve termination is performed. When during the fuel shut-off the predetermined recovery condition after the fuel shut-off is satisfied, the fuel injection from the fuel injection valve is resumed. When resuming the fuel injection the compression ratio is set to be less than the compression ratio in the normal state, determined in accordance with the driving state, when the combustion chamber wall surface temperature becomes lower.
EFFECT: using the invention it is possible to reduce the fuel adhesion to the piston, and also to restrain the exhaust particles emission volume in the ICE exhaust gases.
