FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology, in particular to ophthalmo-oncology, and can be used for differential diagnosis of skin neoplasms of small size of periorbital zone. Ultrasound biomicroscopy is carried out and localization and boundaries of neoplasm is determined. In addition, A-scan ultrasonography is performed and amplitude of echo peaks is measured in detected boundaries: in zone of neoplasm and surrounding it intact tissues. At amplitude of echo-peaks from 60 % to 100 % of height of echo peaks, characteristic for surrounding tissues, and registration at the boundary of formation/surrounding tissues of a high amplitude signal by the type of "cliff" or low amplitude signals by the type of "plato" diagnose benign neoplasm. At the amplitude of echo peaks from 40 % to 60 % of the height of echo peaks characteristic for surrounding tissues and gradual increase in the amplitude of signals at boundary of formation / surrounding tissues of the "ladder" type diagnose malignant neoplasm.

EFFECT: method provides a choice of management in accordance with the diagnosed nature of tumor through the use of ultrasound biomicroscopy and A-scan ultrasonography and detection of acoustic signs indicating the nature of tumor and degree of its invasion into surrounding tissues.
