SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vehicle control systems. Parking assistance device is designed to assist with parking the vehicle perpendicular to the parking area. Parking assistance device contains a route formation scheme, a scheme for obtaining the width of the passage and a scheme for finding the orientation angles. Route formation scheme is configured to form a route through which the vehicle must move to the parking area through a position in which the direction of travel is reversed. Search pattern of the orientation angles is arranged to search for the angles of the orientation of the vehicle at a position in which the direction of travel is reversed, based on the width of the passage to ensure the formation of a route in which the front portion of the vehicle does not intersect at a position, in which the direction of motion is reversed, with the interference near the passage in the direction of the width of the passage.
EFFECT: higher safety of vehicle driving is achieved.
