FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Industrial grade vanadium pentoxide is first converted to vanadium oxytrichloride by low-temperature chlorination in a fluidized bed. Chlorinating gas is preheated by heat exchange between the fluidizing gas and the flue gas. Vanadium oxychloride is purified by rectification and subjected to gas phase hydrolysis in a fluidized bed and fluidized bed calcination. Powder of high purity vanadium pentoxide and a solution of hydrochloric acid as a by-product are obtained.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the selectivity of low-temperature chlorination, to reduce energy consumption and operating costs in the industrial production of high-purity vanadium pentoxide, to exclude environmental pollution by emissions containing ammonia and nitrogen.
