FIELD: lighting engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of lighting engineering, in particular low-pressure gas discharge lamps with helium filling, and can be used for high-power ultraviolet emission lamps intended for processing water and air, as well as surfaces. Source of UV radiation consists of a gas-discharge lamp with helium-containing filling, in which as a means for maintaining the concentration of helium in the lamp, a light-permeable surrounding gas-discharge lamp is used, having a casing connected to a source of a gas helium-containing mixture of a given composition, and an outlet for withdrawing this mixture. Casing surrounds the gas discharge lamp in such a way that the lamp is washed by the flow of said gas mixture, the concentration of helium, in which corresponds to the concentration of helium in the discharge lamp. Due to the constant concentration of helium in the washer mixture, the concentration of helium in the lamp is constant.
EFFECT: stabilization of the radiation parameters of the source of UV radiation with helium-containing filling and simplification of operating conditions.
