SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vehicle transmissions. Method for controlling a hydrostatic transmission of a vehicle with four drive wheels powered by a hybrid hydro-mechanical system, control of hydrostatic transmission is determined by the choice of the driver between a stable mode with two driving wheels (4×2), steady automatic mode (AUTO) and unstable lockout mode (LOCK), in which hydrostatic transmission is activated. In (AUTO) mode, the hydrostatic transmission can be turned off or activated depending on the driving conditions of the vehicle.
EFFECT: easier control of hydrostatic transmission.
