SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology. Disclosed is a device and a method for optical control of a chemical reaction. Device comprises a substrate for binding a molecule, an optical device for inducing a photochemical cleavage reaction, and a circulating device. Substrate provides a wire grid, which comprises a first surface and an opposite second surface, where the first surface is the wall of a reaction chamber. Optical device is configured to direct cleavage light to the second surface of the substrate, and the circulation device circulates the reactant fluid in the reaction chamber. Method includes providing a substrate with a molecule bound to the first surface, irradiating the second surface of the substrate with cleavage light, and circulating the reactant fluid in the reaction chamber.
EFFECT: inventions provide improved performance of photochemical reactions.
