FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a coating covering an engine or another part of an aircraft, in particular a coating protecting an engine or another part from a high-temperature oxidizing environment. Coating designed to be applied to ceramic matrix composites and used in a steam oxidizing atmosphere, has a first layer comprising SiAlON and a second layer covering the first layer and open to the atmosphere, with the second layer comprising mullite, and the first layer and the second layer are in contact with each other. Thickness of each layer is from 5 to 300 microns with a ratio of the thickness of the first layer to the thickness of the second layer from 0.1 to 2.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is an increase in resistance to environmental effects.
