SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering, in particular to control devices for an internal combustion engine. Control device (30) for internal combustion engine (2) comprising combustion chambers (6), ports (8, 10) connected to combustion chambers (6), and valves (12, 14). Valves (12, 14) are made with the ability to open and close the areas between combustion chambers (6) and ports (8, 10). Control device (30) comprises an electronic control module, configured to perform an anti-freeze control operation in such a way as to completely close valves (12, 14) or force valves (12, 14) to be in the opening state with a lifting height of 1 mm or more, if the temperatures around valves (12, 14) are reduced to a predetermined temperature range, after engine (2) of the internal combustion is stopped, or if the outside temperature, when engine (2) of the internal combustion stops, is equal to or less than a predetermined temperature. Predefined temperature range is the temperature range in which the upper limit value is below 10 °C. Predefined temperature is below 5 °C.
EFFECT: technical result is to prevent frosting as much as possible of condensed water inside the port in the gap between the working surface of the valve and the valve seat for the valve, which opens and closes the area between the combustion chamber and the port connected to the combustion chamber, after the internal combustion engine is stopped.
