FIELD: ship building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, particularly to submarine vehicles which break up ice cover using a resonance method. Proposed device for the destruction of the ice cover, which is an underwater vessel that can initiate in the ice resonant flexural-gravity waves when moving under ice with resonant speed, containing a device installed in the bow of the vessel on the upper surface of its hull in the form of a track running along the hull, which is a conveyor belt. Outer part of this tape is located at the level of the hull's outer skin with the possibility of its movement in the direction opposite to the direction of movement of the vessel. Device is able to periodically stop the movement of the conveyor belt with a frequency equal to the frequency of resonant flexural-gravity waves, for a time equal to half of their period.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of ice destruction by an underwater ship is achieved.
