FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of polyhydroxyalkanoates. Process of producing polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) is carried out from molecules of volatile fatty acids (VFA), called precursors, which are obtained by anaerobic fermentation from fermented biomass. Method is characterized by that it includes at least the following stages: a) extraction of molecules of volatile fatty acids (VFA) without stopping fermentation using an extraction agent selected from agents which are at least insoluble in the fermentation medium, b) collecting outside of the fermentation reactor molecules of volatile fatty acids (VFA) after extraction thereof, c) synthesis of said α-halogenated acid by halogenation using a type of a volatile fatty acid (VFA) selected from volatile fatty acids collected at step b) and determined according to the desired type of PHA, d) synthesis of said molecules α-halogenated acid of given α-hydroxy acid by reaction with base, e) polymerisation using obtained α-hydroxy acid of certain polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA).
EFFECT: technical result is improved technological effectiveness of the method due to continuous production of VFA and preservation of activity of microorganisms, and manufacturability is provided by combining all steps to obtain polymers, while providing good output of intermediate products.
