FIELD: pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: present invention provides an oral pharmaceutical composition comprising (a) a taxane in the form of paclitaxel or docetaxel, (b) a medium chain triglyceride, (c) oleoylglycerol complex with a content of 30–65 wt.% monooleoyl glycerol, 15–50 wt.% dioleoyl glycerol and 2–20 wt.% trioleoyl glycerol, (d) surfactant and (e) in some cases, a polyoxyl glyceryl fatty acid ester, and a method for the preparation thereof. Surfactant is selected from the group of components comprising polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block copolymer, sorbitan ester, polyoxyethylene sorbitan, and polyoxyethylene ether.
EFFECT: compositions of the invention are present in the form of a solution at room temperature and can be administered orally without additional treatment, such as heating; also compositions using the oleoylglycerol complex are characterized by a high degree of in vivo absorption in the body.
