FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, in particular to radio wave methods for measuring speed of vehicles using Doppler effect. In the method of measuring displacement vector, in which microwave waves with wavelength λ0 is emitted on both sides of vehicle with width l from height h above surface at angle α and β to direction of movement in vertical and horizontal planes, reflected waves are received, selecting signals D1(t) and D2(t) with Doppler frequencies on mixers between emitted and received waves, number of half-periods of wavelengths of Doppler frequencies of said signals N1 and N2, then determining vector of vehicle movement in time Δt, module L and phase ϕ which is calculated by formulas L=r(N1+N2)sin(ϕ)/(N1-N2) and ϕ=λ0(N1-N2)90°/πrcos(α)cos(β), where r=l+2hctg(α)tg(β).

EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring the vector of movement of a vehicle.
