FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a genetically engineered microorganism capable of converting cholesterol, analogues and derivatives of cholesterol into steroid hormone precursors, where said microorganism comprises at least one DNA sequence which codes cytochrome P450 of eukaryotic origin, exogenous DNA sequence which codes Adx, and exogenous DNA sequence which codes AdR, and wherein said microorganism is Bacillus megaterium. Disclosed is a method of producing steroid hormone precursors using said microorganism. Disclosed is a method of producing recombinant strains of a Bacillus megaterium microorganism, which are improved with respect to the conversion of cholesterol, analogues and derivatives of cholesterol into steroid hormone precursors.
EFFECT: group of inventions increases output of steroid hormone precursors compared to other systems producing said product.
