FIELD: general purpose equipment for chemistry or physics laboratories.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cartridge for processing a liquid sample, for example, for detecting components in a blood sample. Cartridge comprises a fluidic system with intake port (12) leading via intake capillary channel (13) to storage chamber (14). Feeding capillary channel (15) leads from storage chamber (14) to detection chamber (16). Design of cartridge (10) is such that intake capillary channel (13) that connects intake port (12) to storage chamber (14), has a capillary suction pressure sufficiently high to drive some sample from the intake port to the storage chamber without need of any additional pressure. Furthermore cartridge flow control element (18, 19, 20) is adapted to be externally controllable such that the sample can be drawn from storage chamber (14) towards processing chamber (16) without any active pumping.

EFFECT: providing convenient and reliable control of samples, faster sampling.
