SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, in particular to a composition for insulin secretion during glucose stimulation, containing an insulin-expressing non-native pancreatic β-cells and medium, or a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent. Also disclosed is a method of producing insulin-expressing non-native pancreatic β-cells by in vitro differentiation of precursor cells into non-native pancreatic β-cells, comprising culturing a cluster of progenitor cells in a suspension in a culture medium containing a thyroid hormone signaling pathway activator and a transforming growth factor signaling pathway inhibitor β (TGF-β).

EFFECT: invention enables efficient use of the obtained cells in cell therapy.
