FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of cell biology and biotechnology, specifically to the production of cells expressing markers characteristic of pancreatic endocrine cells and an increase in the yield of β-cells. Method includes the differentiation of cells expressing markers characteristic of the foregut endoderm cells, or markers characteristic of pancreatic anterior intestinal progenitor cells, or markers characteristic of pancreatic endoderm/endocrine progenitor cells derived from non-embryonic pluripotent cells, lines of embryonic stem cell lines H1, H7, H9, inducible pluripotent cells or reprogrammed pluripotent cells into cells expressing markers characteristic of pancreatic endocrine cells by treatment with thyroid hormone and, optionally, an ALK5 inhibitor.
EFFECT: invention enables to increase the yield of said cells and improve differentiation.
