FIELD: internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Method of controlling motor vehicle camshaft comprises the following steps. During first vehicle driving cycle, only after output signal from sensor (172) of camshaft (162) is determined as available and sufficiently accurate, including after engine rpm (10) exceeds threshold value, and after scrolling in first vehicle driving cycle, differential-based corrections are determined. Difference is determined between the position of the distribution shaft indicated by the sensor of the distribution shaft and the position of the distributing shaft indicated by controller (170) of motor (166). Motor controller is connected with camshaft. Vehicle first driving cycle is terminated by engine stop. During the vehicle second driving cycle following the first driving cycle of the vehicle, the engine is scrolled from the rest state. Including as long as the output signal of the camshaft sensor is determined as inaccessible and insufficiently accurate. During scrolling, the camshaft is adjusted based on the position of the distribution shaft indicated by the motor controller and said correction. Disclosed is a method of controlling camshaft of a vehicle engine.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of camshaft positioning error, in particular, during engine scrolling.
