SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of controlling motion of a vehicle carried out by means of a motion control device. Motion control device comprises: a first detection means configured to detect interference adjacent to a vehicle moving in a first lane; and second detection means configured to detect a second lane adjacent to the first lane. Motion control device is configured to: set the first range in the lane change direction target position in the second lane, wherein the first range has size equal to or larger than the size that the vehicle occupies on the road surface; detecting a range in the second lane as a second range, wherein the range in the second lane is located on the side of the vehicle, wherein the interference is not in the range in the second lane; and to change lane of the vehicle in question when the second range includes a first range.
EFFECT: providing a device and a method of controlling movement, which can properly control the vehicle, even when the lane change space becomes small in the middle of the change of lane.
