SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of making a printing die for forming a pattern on a profiled surface, which prints a die as such and uses a printing die for printing. Disclosed is a method of making a die with pattern (100) for forming a pattern on profiled surface (10). Method comprises applying layer (115) of flexible precursor material on top of reference pattern (50) carrying back pattern (52) to form desired pattern (122) in said layer; hardening the flexible precursor material to form flexible die (120) containing the desired pattern; providing an intermediate structure of a die for attaching a porous flexible support layer (130) to a flexible die layer; separating intermediate die structure from reference pattern; indentation of intermediate structure of die into shaped surface by drawing of characteristic elements facing to profiled surface; forming a die with a pattern by filling a porous flexible support layer with filler material to reduce flexibility of the support layer and removing the die with a pattern from the profiled surface.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increase of die service life.
