ENGINE CONTROL METHOD (EMBODIMENTS) AND VEHICLE SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC F02D15/02 F02D41/14 F02D41/26 B60W10/06 B60W10/101 B60W30/188

Abstract RU 2696178 C2

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and system for integration of engine with variable compression ratio with stepless transmission. According to the request of the driver, the controller can determine whether to maintain the current compression ratio or switch to a different compression ratio based on the fuel saving advantage of said transition and additionally based on engine limitations, which can occur at engine speed/load after transition. To increase clean fuel economy while eliminating engine limitations, transition to another compression ratio can be combined with engine rpm/load control mode using stepless transmission while maintaining engine output power.

EFFECT: technical result is higher fuel economy.
