FIELD: safety equipment; power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device ensuring safety of nuclear power plants (NPP) in conditions of severe accidents leading to core meltdown, destruction of the nuclear reactor housing and output of melt into space of the nuclear power plant enclosure. A device for localization of melt of a nuclear reactor core includes use of a lower support consisting of a horizontal sectional, solid or separated, embedded plate having radial supports. Radial supports resting on radial supports of horizontal embedded plate are also made in lower part of melt trap body on outer side. Radial supports of the horizontal embedded plate and radial supports of the melt trap housing are connected by means of retainers. At that, each of radial supports of horizontal embedded plate and melt trap housing, as well as retainer have holes of oval shape, and upper support consisting of paired turnbuckles located on outer housing of melt trap so that longitudinal axis of radial support passes in projection at equidistant distance from fastening points of turnbuckles. Turnbuckles are installed tangentially to melt trap body.
EFFECT: improving reliability of the device for localization of melt of core of nuclear reactor due to exclusion of overturning of trap of melt of core of nuclear reactor at action of nonaxisymmetric impact loads and melt output outside the housing.
