FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to vehicles and method of vehicle control. Proposed vehicle comprises power train, speed control system and controller. Controller is programmed, in response to activation of the speed control system, when conditions indicate that the vehicle tows the object, operate the power train to maintain the target distance between the vehicle and the target vehicle based on the total length of the vehicle and object. Also, the controller is programmed, in response to the brake temperature, which is greater than the threshold value when the automatic speed control system is activated, and the vehicle is attached to the trailer, to operate power train to maintain target distance between vehicle and target vehicle based on total length of vehicle and object so that vehicle speed decreases to reduce brake temperature. Also, in response to activation of the vehicle speed control system and conditions indicating availability of the towed object, the user is induced through the display interface to enter the combined length of the vehicle and the towed object.

EFFECT: providing an adaptive cruise control system for maintaining a predetermined distance to the vehicle ahead on the basis of the total length of the vehicle and the towed object with the possibility of adjusting the temperature of the brakes.
