SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gasoline internal combustion engines with ultrahigh compression ratio. Piston internal combustion engine includes at least one cylinder with a piston, a cylinder cover, a combustion chamber with an ignition plug, each combustion chamber is equipped with a compensation chamber, the cavity of which is divided into two parts by a movable inner wall, wherein one part of the cavity of the compensation chamber is connected to the combustion chamber, and the other part is connected to the constant gas pressure source, in addition, the movable wall, in its every extreme position, it is possible to shut off the compensation chamber communication with the combustion chamber or with the constant gas pressure source.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of engine operation in detonation mode.
