FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device and a method for correcting a medical image of a mammary gland, as well as a visualization system. Device for correction of medical image of mammary gland comprises unit for input of medical image, potentially demonstrating artificial deformations of mammary gland, unit for inputting a scanned image depicting the mammary gland in a predetermined position of the subject and containing information on the mammary gland surface, a simulation unit for forming a simulated medical image of a mammary gland, wherein the simulated medical image depicts a mammary gland in the same predetermined position of the subject as the scanned image and represents a mammary surface by a surface mesh, and the modeling unit is configured to form a simulated medical image of the breast based on the volumetric biomechanical model, the material parameters of which are variable for matching the biomechanical model with the mammary gland surface extracted from the scanned image, and correction unit for determining corrections for correction of modeled medical image of mammary gland for artificial deformations using scanned image by using comparison of surfaces between surface mesh and scanned image and to apply certain corrections to the obtained medical image to obtain a corrected medical image. Imaging system for producing a medical imaging of a mammary gland comprises a medical imaging unit, a scanned image obtaining unit, device for correction of medical image of mammary gland and output unit for output of corrected medical image of mammary gland. A method for correcting a medical imaging of a mammary gland is performed by a device. A computer-readable data medium has software code which, when executed by a processor, causes the computer to perform the steps of the method.
EFFECT: using the group of inventions enables improving the medical imaging of the mammary gland, particularly with respect to deformations caused by equipment used to produce a medical imaging of the mammary gland.
