FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology and radiation therapy, and can be used for treating basal cell skin cancer. That is ensured by visual inspection of the patient. Visual examination of the patient is used to measure the tumor height above the skin surface. Cytological and histological examination of the sample is performed from the tumor center. Tumor type and its recurrence are recorded. Photosensitizer is introduced intravenously in an amount equivalent to that of the patient. 2–3 hours later, a session of photodynamic irradiation (PDI) of a tumor with a wavelength of a PDI source corresponding to the absorption wavelength of the introduced photosensitizer is performed. PDI is carried out for a period of time corresponding to the type and recurrence of the tumor. If the tumor height is more than 2 mm 15–20 minutes before the PDI, the elevating part of the tumor is removed by an electric coagulator or laser with a preliminary anesthetic of the lesion.
EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness, reduced risk of recurrences with reduced rebleulosis syndrome when performing PDI, improved cosmetic result.
