FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrument-making and machine building and can be used in making sealers with nanodispersed magnetic fluid. Method of processing surfaces of magnetically conductive parts of sealers made from steel 40X13 and contacting nanodispersed magnetic fluid involves polishing surfaces of magnetically conductive parts by mechanical or galvanic method, plastic surface deformation. Prior to polishing of surfaces of magnetically conductive parts they are subjected to quenching with heating to temperature of 1050–1180 °C and subsequent tempering in oil, and plastic surface deformation is carried out using a lubricant-cooling technical agent in form of a paste, which includes high-dispersion copper particles.

EFFECT: higher wear resistance of surface layer of magnetically conductive parts in contact with nanodispersed magnetic fluid.
