FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention represents a method for selection of stallions of Arabian thoroughbred breed with high cryostability of sperm on concentration of cadmium in mane hair including a haircut of required hair sample by weight of not less than 0.24 g from section of mane in the area of a projection of the first cervical vertebra. For further studies, a proximal hair section is taken, equal in length to 3.3 cm. Proposed method is characterized by that the criterion for assessment of cryostability of sperm is used level of cadmium concentration in hair. If the cadmium concentration is less than 0.0065 mcg/g, the stallion of this breed is referred to a group of animals with high cryostability of the sperm, with concentration higher than 0.0065 mcg/g – to a group with a low one.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to estimate reproductive qualities of stallions of Arabian thoroughbred breed.
