SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of animal husbandry, in particular to horse breeding, and can be used to select stallions with high sperm cryogenic resistance. The method includes taking blood samples. Next, the level of lipase activity is determined in the blood serum. If the level of lipase activity in the blood serum is above 17.8 IU/l, the stallion should be referred to the group with high sperm cryogenic resistance, and if the level of lipase activity in the blood serum is below 17.8 IU/l, respectively, to the group with low sperm cryogenic resistance.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to assess the creep resistance of stallion sperm without resorting to the selection of the sperm itself.
