SUBSTANCE: invention relates to animal breeding, in particular to horse breeding. Concentration of L-carnitine is determined in spermoplasm, and if concentration of L-carnitine is more than 103 mcmol/l, the stallion is referred to a group with high cryo-resistance of sperm. If the concentration of L-carnitine is lower than 103 mcmol/l – to the group with low cryo-resistance of sperm.

EFFECT: method enables to select stallions with high cryo-resistance of sperm.
