SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of animal husbandry, in particular to horse breeding, and can be used to select stallions with high sperm quality. The method for evaluating the quality of sperm of stallions by the activity of creatine phosphokinase in blood serum includes the collection of blood samples. Next, the activity of creatine phosphokinase is determined. If the activity of creatine phosphokinase in the blood serum is above 178 IU/l, the stallion should be referred to the group with high sperm quality, if the activity of creatine phosphokinase in the blood serum is below 178 IU/l, respectively, to the group with low sperm quality.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to assess the quality of stallion sperm without resorting to the selection of the sperm itself.
