FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology. Disclosed is a device for recording change of electric field in a process of a biochemical reaction catalysed by a molecule and a method for determining a nucleotide sequence of a fragment of a nucleic acid molecule. Device has a monatomic charge centre based on a transition metal atom of variable valency, coordinated with a tridentate terpyridine ligand, left and right metal electrodes and a non-conducting linker moiety bonded to a tridentate terpyridinone ligand by covalent bonding. Method comprises providing conditions for immobilisation of a polymerase with a sample having an affinity for nucleic acid, providing conditions for functional activity of the polymerase, recording the fact of charge separation, determining time intervals between each subsequent detected fact of charge separation and determining a nucleotide sequence.
EFFECT: inventions provide higher accuracy and productivity of nucleic acid sequencing.
