FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of using autonomous unmanned underwater vehicles (AUUV), and more specifically to methods of providing their energy efficiency. Solved technical problem is improvement of energy efficiency of AUUV. Said technical result is achieved by using a multi-frequency sonar and optimizing the use of the SSS equipment depending on the task being solved: - for detection of navigation obstacles at maximum range probing signals (PS) radiation is carried out at the lowest frequency, providing low attenuation of the PS during propagation to the obstacle and back. At that, when forming the directivity characteristics, only a part of the receiving antenna elements is used, namely elements spaced apart by a distance equal to half the wavelength at the radiation frequency. Elements of receiving antenna, not involved in formation of directivity characteristics, in order to reduce power consumption are switched off; - for observation of objects with high resolution in the interests of their classification at short distances, radiation of the PS is carried out at the highest frequency, but with reduced power of radiation, calculated on the basis of the distance to the object. At that, for formation of directivity characteristics signals from output of all elements of receiving antenna are used.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption of AUUV swimming safety sonar (SSS).
