SUBSTANCE: holder for an aerosol-generating article comprises a body forming a passage extending from the first end of the body to the second end of the body for receiving an aerosol-generating article. Holder further comprises a sleeve having (i) a ventilation region comprising one or more openings, and (ii) a quenching area located further downstream relative to the ventilation region. Sleeve is configured to move over the body between (i) the retracted position, (ii) the extinguishing position and (iii) the use position between the retracted position and the extinguishing position. Ventilation area is made with possibility of alignment with heat source of aerosol-generating article, when sleeve is in position of use. Quenching area is made with possibility of alignment with the heat source of the aerosol-generating article when the sleeve is in the quenching position.
